Organize perakendeciliğin sektör içerisinden aldığı pay artmaya devam etmektedir. Organize perakendeciliğin en önemli oyuncularından biri de hem geleneksel kanala hem de organize kanaldaki büyük oyunculara rakip olarak ortaya çıkan indirim marketleridir. Türkiye’de tüketicilerle 90’lı yıllarda tanışan bu iş modeli 2019 yılı sonu itibariyle 30 bin mağaza sayısı ile ülke geneline yayılmayı da başarmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, indirim marketlerini tercih eden tüketicilerin demografik profilini çıkarmanın yanı sıra bu marketleri neden tercih ettiklerini araştırmaktır. Çalışma kapsamında Türkiye nüfusunun yaş ve cinsiyete göre dağılımı dikkate alınarak kota örnekleme yöntemiyle Sakarya, Kocaeli ve İstanbul illerinde yaşayan 1.291 kişiye anket uygulanarak veri toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, indirim marketlerinin başlıca tercih nedenleri fiyat (%42,84), yakınlık (%36,87) ve kalite (%14,87) olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca indirim marketlerinin müşteri profillerindeki benzerlikler ve farklılıklar ortaya çıkarıldığı gibi demografik özelliklere göre tercih nedenlerinde farklılaşma olup olmadığı da incelenmiştir.
The share of organized retailers in the sector continues to rise. One of the most important players of organized retail is the discount markets that appear as competitors to both the traditional channel and the major players on the organized channel. This business model that met consumers in the 90s in Turkey has managed to spread across the country by the end of 2019 with the number of 30 thousand stores. The aim of this study is to explore the demographic profile of consumers who prefer discount markets as well as why they prefer these markets. In the framework of the study, data were collected by the survey of 1,291 people living in Sakarya, Kocaeli and Istanbul by taking into account the distribution of the Turkish population according to age and gender. The study found that the main preference reasons for discounts markets were price (42.84) and proximity (36.87) and quality (14.87). It has also been studied whether discount markets have similarities and differences in customer profiles, as well as whether there are differences in preferred reasons according to demographic characteristics.
