Throughout history, humans have benefited from animals in different ways. In the pre-agricultural period, in hunting and gathering societies, people benefited from animals to meet their feeding and dressing needs. Apart from meat and milk, which are essential nutrients, one of the most common forms of utilization is fiber. The domestication of sheep and the exploitation of wool coincide with the same time. Depending on the development of societies, usage rate and form of fleece has changed. While it was used mainly for dressing and protection from cold in primitive societies, it is also used in medical clothing and vehicles, natural fertilizer production, insulation works and various flooring Works in modern societies. Since 1961, more than 2 million tons of animal fiber is produced every year in the world and has an important place in the economy of many countries. China, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Turkey is the pioneer countries in the World wool production. TRB2, TRC2 and TRC3 regions constitute the most important wool producing areas about wool production in Turkey.
