Unemployment, which is an economic and social concept, has significant effects on social structure due to its effects on individuals. Social segregation and psychological problems faced by individuals such as suicide, depression, feeling of loneliness in economies with high unemployment increases the search for income by youth unemployed people through illegal methods and this causes unemployed individuals to turn to crime. In this study, which emerged from the increasing importance of deformation caused by unemployment in economic and social phenomena, the relationship between crime and youth unemployment were examined by using data from the NUTS - 1 Regions. In the study carried out with the data of 2004 - 2018 period, Common Correlated Effects Model was used to estimate long term parameters between variables. Findings from the empirical analysis showed that the relationship between youth unemployment and crime level was positive overall the panel; the decrease in the level of youth unemployment will lead to a decrease in the level of crime. On the regional level, the relationship between variables in West Marmara, East Marmara and Mediterranean Regions was positive; in other regions it was found to be statistically insignificant.
