Abstract:

With increasing competition and globalization, corporate management activities are adopted and taken into account by many companies operating in both developed and developing countries. When we look at the particular of Turkey, in order to get the concept of corporate management to a handheld character, the corporate management principles that entered into force in 2013 and were incorporated into the management policies by many are facing us. In this perspective, the purpose of the study is to show the number of women managers in the board of directors of companies that have been quoted in the Bursa Istanbul Corporate Management Index and the potential impact on the performance of the company of the state of being a woman in a specific manada board chairman. In the framework of the research, the active profitability, self-source profitability and Tobins'q values of the companies with this index quotation between 2013-2018 were considered as dependent variables, while the proportion of female members in the board of directors and the state of the chairman of the board of directors were studied by the Dynamic Panel Data Analysis technique. The findings obtained from the study have revealed the relationship of female managerial intensity with the company’s performance, while the market participants have previously claimed that it is an aspect that should be included in the company’s analysis.
