The purpose of the present study was to uncover the helping tendencies of the counseling candidates according to the Person-Situation Approach. The participants of the study were undergraduate students of the guidance and psychological counseling program of a state university in different grades (1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 4th Grade). The criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in the study. The study group consisted of 375 students, 269 (71.7%) females and 106 (28.3%) males. The Help Orientation Scale was used to collect the study data. The t-test and ANOVA methods were used in the study to determine whether the psychological counselor candidates’ helping tendencies changed according to gender and grades. The findings of the study show that the tendency of helping counselors according to the Person-Situation Approach does not change according to the grades variable but changes according to the gender variable.
