Bu çalışmada Ahmet Mithat’ın Jön Türk romanında geleneksel algı üzerinde durulacaktır. Çalışmada Jön Türk romanının seçilmesinin nedeni geleneksel algının- bir bakıma yazar- anlatıcının algısının- bu romanda açıkça görülmesidir. Algı yazarların sadece iç dünyalarını yansıtan bir kavram değildir; onların içinde yaşadıkları toplumun ve dönemin genel eğilimlerini gösteren bir sistemdir de. Algının oluşumunda birçok faktör etkilidir: Geçmiş yaşantı, kültür, ideolojik yaklaşım, din, çevre vb. Bu nedenle algı bireyseldir. Jön Türk romanında yazar- anlatıcı gelenekselle modernin birleşimini Nurullah karakteri ile vermeye çalışır; ancak burada geleneksel algının devam ettiği ve gelenekselin moderne göre tercihe şayan olduğu görülmektedir. Nurullah birçok bakımdan Osmanlı- Türk kimliğine uygun bir algıya sahiptir. Nurullah’ı hastalıklı bir şekilde seven Ceylan’ın yaptığı bir planla ondan hamile kalması ve sonucunda kendisini intihara kadar sürüklemesi ise geleneğin dışında kalmasının, Batı kültürünü uçlarda yaşamasının bir sonucudur.
This study will focus on the traditional perception of Ahmet Mithat’s Jön Turkic novel. The reason for the selection of the Jön Turkic novel in the study is that the traditional perception – in a way the author’s perception – is clearly seen in this novel. The perception is not only a concept of writers that reflects their inner worlds; it is also a system that shows the general trends of the society and of the time in which they live. Many factors are influential in the formation of perception: past life, culture, ideological approach, religion, environment, etc. That is why the perception is individual. In the Jön Turkic novel, the writer-songwriter tries to give the tradition the unification of modernity with the character of Nurullah; but here it appears that the traditional perception continues and that the tradition is preferred to modern. In many ways, Nurullah has a proper perception of the Ottoman-Turkish identity. The fact that Ceylan, who loves Nurullah sickly, has made a plan to get pregnant from him and thus drive him to suicide is the result of his stay outside the tradition, living the Western culture at the ends.
In this study, the traditional perception in Ahmet Mithat’s Jön Türk novel will be deliberated. The reason behind the selection of Jön Türk is the traditional perception, in a way the perception of writer-narrator, is clearly seen in this novel. It is not only a concept that reflects only the inner world of writers, but also a system that shows the general tendencies of the society and the period in which they live. Many factors are effective in the formation of perception; such as past experience, culture, ideological approach, religion, environment etc. Therefore, it is individual. In Jön Türk novel, author-narrator tries to provide a combination of traditional and modern perception through Nurullah character; however, it is seen that the traditional one continues and it is preferred over the modern. Nurullah has a perception that, in many respects, conforms to Ottoman-Turkish identity. The plan by Ceylan, who loves Nurullah in a diseased manner, to conceive from him and dragging herself to suicide as a result of this are the consequences of the fact that she remains outside of the tradition and lives on the edge of Western culture.
