Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, 20. yüzyılın en önemli modern yazarlarından olan Franz Kafka’nın, eserlerinin kaynağını oluşturan umutsuzluk olgusunun, yalnızca kurgusal-sanatsal metinlerinde kullandığı edebi bir unsur mu yoksa biyografik açıdan yaşam biçimi veya dünya görüşünün bir parçası mı sorusuna bir yanıt aramaktır. Bu çerçevede imgebilimsel bir yaklaşımla Kafka’nın mektuplarını inceleyerek, yazarın hem yazın kaynağı hem de yaşam kaynağı olarak görülebilecek umutsuzluk olgusu işlenmektedir. Yazarın hem yaşamını hem de yazılarını güvenilir deliller olarak göstererek; onun psikolojik gelişimine ait saptamaları ve yazarın gölgede kalan yanları ile kişiliğinin şekillenmesine yardım eden bilinç dışı durumları ele alınmıştır. Bu nedenle Kafka’nın umut imgelemi, günümüze ulaşmış güncelerindeki metinlerinde de biyografik bir yöntemle incelenmiş, mektuplarındaki imgelerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Konumuzun merkezinde duran umutsuzluk imgesinin, bu metin türü içerisinde nasıl kullanıldığı ve edebi eserlerinde önemli bir mahiyette olan umutsuzluk ile ne derece örtüştüğü veya ayrıştığı da gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır.
The main objective of this research is to find a answer to the question of whether the fact of desperation, which is the source of his works, is a literary element only used in fictional-artistic texts or a biographical way of life or a part of the worldview. In this framework, an immutable approach examines Kafka's letters and deals with the fact of disappointment that the writer can see as both the source of summer and the source of life. Showing both the writer's life and his writings as reliable evidence, the findings of his psychological development and the unconscious situations that the writer's remaining aspects in the shadow and his personality form. Therefore, Kafka's hope image is compared with the images in his letters, which are also studied by a biographical method in his texts that have reached today. The image of disappointment that stands at the heart of our topic has also been tried to show how it was used in this type of text and how much it is intertwined or separated with disappointment that is in an important nature in its literary works.
The goal of this study is to answer the question whether the despair phenomenon that forms the basis for the works of Kafka, one of the most significant modern authors of the 20th century, is only a literary component that he used in his fictional-artistic texts or a part of his lifestyle and worldview from a biographical perspective. In this context, Kafka’s letters are studied with an imagological approach to deal with the despair phenomenon which might both be regarded as the source of his literature and life. Putting forward his life and writings as reliable proofs, the study has dealt with his psychological development, background features and subconscious aspects that helped shape his personality. Therefore, Kafka’s hope image in his diaries was also studied with a biographical approach and compared with the images in his letters. We have also tried to reveal how despair image, central to our subject, was used in this text type and to what extent it overlaps with or differentiates from despair which is a significant element of his literary works.
