OKUMA BECERİLERİ SEÇMELİ DERSİNE YÖNELİK ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract:

Okuma Becerileri dersi, okumanın hem eğitim-öğretim sürecindeki bütün ders ve faaliyetlerde hem de kültürel açıdan kendini geliştirmedeki rolü göz önünde bulundurularak ortaöğretim okullarının programına konulmuş seçmeli bir derstir. Söz konusu ders, 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim yılından itibaren 5. sınıflarda seçmeli ders olarak yer almaktadır. Okuma Becerileri dersi diğer derslerin özellikle de Türkçe dersinin tamamlayıcısı olarak düşünülmüş olmakla birlikte dersin bağımsız bir öğretim programı vardır. Dersin programı ile her yönüyle okuma bilinci edinmiş ve okuma becerisinin önemini anlamış bireyler yetiştirmek hedeflenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Okuma Becerileri seçmeli dersinin öğretmen görüşlerine göre değerlendirilmesidir. Okuma Becerileri dersiyle öğretmenlerin ne yapmak istedikleri, planlarını nasıl hazırladıkları, e-okuma becerisinin programda yer almasını nasıl değerlendirdikleri, bu derste kitap olmaması konusundaki düşünceleri, metin ve etkinlik seçimleri, ölçme ve değerlendirme işlemleri; programın kazanımları, etkinlik örnekleri ve açıklamalarıyla bunu ne derece karşılayabildiği öğretmenlerin gözünden incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya Karaman il merkezinde görev yapan ve Okuma Becerileri dersine giren 15 öğretmen katılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz, içerik analizi ve frekans kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada genel olarak dersin öğretim programının daha detaylı olarak yeniden ele alınmasıgerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenler, programın daha ayrıntılı olması, etkinlik örneklerinin eklenmesi, ders saatinin artırılması, kaynak kitapların hazırlanması durumunda Okuma Becerileri dersinin daha etkili olacağı doğrultusunda görüş beyan etmişlerdir.

The Reading Skills course is an eligible course placed in the program of secondary schools, taking into account the role of reading in both the courses and activities in the educational-learning process and in cultural self-development. This course is included as optional courses in the 5th class from the 2012-2013 academic year. The reading skills course has an independent curriculum while other courses are considered to be the complementary of the Turkish course. The curriculum aims to train individuals who have acquired reading awareness in all aspects and understand the importance of reading skills. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the reading skills of the choice course according to the teacher's views. Reading Skills course is studied by teachers what they want to do, how they prepare their plans, how they evaluate the e-learning skills to be included in the program, their thoughts about the absence of books in this course, text and activity choices, measurement and evaluation processes; how much teachers can satisfy it with the program’s achievements, performance examples and explanations. In this study, a semi-configured interview form was used. The study was attended by 15 teachers who worked at Karaman province center and entered the Reading Skills class. In data analysis, visual analysis, content analysis and frequency analysis were used. In the study, it was achieved that the course's curriculum should be discussed in more detail. Teachers have expressed their opinion that if the program is more detailed, the addition of examples of events, the increase in the course hours, the preparation of resource books, the reading skills course will be more effective.
