Bu araştırma, “Anlaşmazlık Çözümü ve Akran Arabuluculuk Eğitimi” almış arabulucu öğrencilerin kendi sınıflarında öğrenciler arasında yaşanan çatışmaların çözüme kavuşturulmasında ve disiplin olaylarının azaltılmasındaki etkisinin incelendiği deneysel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmaya katılan denekler 2017-2018 Öğretim yılında il merkezindeki ortaöğretim kurumunda öğrenim gören yaşları 14-19 arasında değişen öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada her sınıf düzeyinden bir şube deney grubu, diğer bir şube kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki ayrı grup oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma, deney grubu sınıflarda 73, kontrol grubu sınıflarda 79 olmak üzere 152 denek üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada psikoloji alanında sıklıkla kullanılan karışık desenlerin özel bir türü olan “öntest son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın temel amacı, Akran Arabulucu Öğrencilerin sınıf içinde yaşanan çatışmaları çözüme kavuşturma düzeylerini test etmek olduğundan araştırmanın bağımsız değişkeni; öntest ve son test arasında sadece deney grubuna uygulanan Akran Arabuluculuk Uygulamasıdır. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkeni ise; öğrencilerin çatışma düzeyleridir. Bağımlı değişkene ilişkin veriler ders öğretmenleri, idareciler ve rehberlik servisinin görüşleri doğrultusunda bu araştırma için geliştirilen “Sınıf Değerlendirme Formları” ile elde edilmiştir.Araştırma deseni çerçevesince, çalışmanın başlangıcınca sınıf değerlendirme formları kullanılarak tüm sınıfların öntest olarak çatışma-disiplin düzeyleri belirlenmiştir. Her sınıf düzeyinde bir şube deney grubu olarak belirlenmiş ve bu grupta iki ay süreyle Akran Arabuluculuk Uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubunda bulunan sınıflarla yürütülen Akran Arabuluculuk Uygulamasının bitiminde, deney ve kontrol grubunda bulunan sınıfların çatışma-disiplin düzeyleri son test olarak tekrar belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen araştırma bulgularınca, Akran Arabuluculuk uygulamasının yürütüldüğü deney grubu sınıflarla, uygulamanın yürütülmediği kontrol grubu sınıfların çatışma-disiplin düzeylerine ilişkin öntest puanları ile son test puanları arasında anlamlı(p<.05) bir farkın olduğu görülmüştür.
This research is an empirical research that examines the effect of mediator students who have received "Conflict Resolution and Peer Mediation Training"on the resolution of conflicts among students in their classes and the reduction of disciplinary events.The subjects who participated in the research consist of students whose ages ranged from 14 to 19 years in the secondary education institution in the province center, in 2017-2018 school year.In the study, two separate groups were established, one branch test group at each grade level and another branch control group.The study was carried out on 152 subjects, 73 in the experimental group and 79 in the control group.In the study, “experimental patterns with pre-test and post-test controlled group” which is a special kind of mixed patterns, frequently, used in the field of psychology .As the main purpose of the study is to test the levels of Peer Mediator Students resolve conflicts in the classroom, the independent variable of the research is the Peer Mediation Practice applied only to the experimental group between the pre- and post-test.The dependent variable of the research is; the conflict levels of students.The data in relation tothe dependent variable were obtained by the "Class Evaluation Forms" developed for this research in line with the opinions of the course teachers, administrators and councellingservices.In the framework of research pattern, conflict-disciplinary levels of all classes were determined as pre-testby using class evaluation forms at the beginning of the study.A branch at each grade level was designated as an experimental group, and Peer Mediation Practice was conducted in this group for two months.At the end of Peer Mediation Practice conducted at branches within experimental group, conflict-disciplinary levels of those classes within experimental and control groups have been re-determined as post-test.According to the research findings obtained, it was found that there was a meaningful difference (p<.05) between pre-test scores and post-test scores in relation to conflict-disciplinary levels of the test group in which the peer mediation practice was conducted and the control group classes in which the practice was not conducted
