Bu araştırma, yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrenimini sürdüren öğretmenlerin lisansüstü eğitime devam etme gerekçelerini, bu süreçte üniversiteden, çalıştığı kurumdan ve yakın çevresinden kaynaklanan sorunlarını tespit edip çözüm önerilerini geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Lisansüstü eğitim özellikle doktora eğitimi alana ve bilimsel gelişmelere yeni değerler katmayı amaçlayan çalışmalardan oluşan ve gönüllü alınan bir eğitimdir. Lisansüstü eğitim sürecinde bilim insanlarının moral değerlerini olumsuz yönden etkileyecek sorunların çözülmesi yönetimlerin temel görevidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesiyle belirlenmiştir. Araştırma grubunu, 2017- 2018 eğitim-öğretim yıllında farklı illerde görev yapan ve Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen Üniversitesi, Atatürk Üniversitesi ve Iğdır Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitülerinin tezli öğretim programlarında öğrenim gören 36 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre öğretmenlerin lisansüstü eğitim yapmalarının başlıca nedenleri prestijli bir yaşama sahip olma, toplum tarafından onaylanan biri olma, alanında yetkin ve etkili biri olma ve akademisyen olma beklentisidir. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenler, üniversiteden kaynaklanan en önemli sorunları personelin ilgisiz davranışları, danışmanların yeterince yönlendirmede bulunmaması ve derslerin lisans programında işlendiği gibi işlenmesi; Çalıştığı kurumdan kaynaklanan en önemli sorunları ise derslere devam için izin almada problem yaşamaları ve okullarındaki öğrenci velilerinin ilgili yerlere şikâyette bulunmaları; yakın çevresinden kaynaklanan sorunları okul bittikten sonra öğrenci ailelerinin lisansüstü eğitimi anlamsız bulması ve işe girmede akranları ile karşılaştırmanın yapılmasını göstermektedir.
This research aims to identify the reasons for teachers who continue their master and doctoral studies to continue their postgraduate education, identify the problems arising from the university, the institution in which they work and the close surroundings in this process, and develop solutions suggestions. Graduate education is a training that consists of studies aimed at adding new values to the field of doctoral education and scientific development. In the postgraduate education process, solving problems that will negatively affect the moral values of scientists is the main task of governments. The study group was determined by the maximum variety of sampling methods for the purpose. The research group consists of 36 teachers working in different provinces in the 2017-2018 educational year and studying in the thesis teaching programs of the University of Pair Ibrahim Chechen, Atatürk University and Iğdır University Institute of Social Sciences. According to the results of the study, the main reasons for teachers to undertake postgraduate education are the expectation of having a prestigious life, being one approved by society, being a competent and effective one in the field, and becoming an academic. The most important problems arising from the university are the uninterested behavior of the staff, the lack of sufficient guidance of the consultants and the processing of the courses as processed in the bachelor’s program; the most important problems arising from the institution in which they work are the problems in getting permission to continue the courses and the student tutors in their schools complain to the relevant places; the problems arising from the close surroundings are the problems arising from the school, the student families find their graduate education meaningless and the comparison with their colleagues in the employment.
The aim of this research is to determine the causes of the graduate education and the problems experienced by the teachers who are continuing their masters and doctoral studies and to improve the solution proposals. These are thought to be problems caused by the universities, problems arising from their institutions and problems arising from the close environment in the process of teachers' graduate and doctoral education. A master's degree is a voluntary education after someone has graduated. Solving the problems that will affect the moral values of scientists negatively in the graduate education process is the main task of the administrations. The research group of the study was determined by means of maximum diversity sampling from purposeful sampling methods. The research group constitutes 36 teachers who work in different cities in 2017-2018 academic year and who are trained in Teaching Programs of Ağrı İbrahim Chechen University, Atatürk University and Iğdır University Social Sciences Institutes. According to the results of the research, the primary reasons for teachers to undertake postgraduate education are to have a prestigious life, to be approved by the society, to be competent and effective in their field and to be an academician. According to the participants, the most important problems that the university has in the process of making the masters at the graduate level are the unrelated behavior of the staff, the lack of guidance of the consultants and the processing of the courses as they are done in the undergraduate education. According to the participants, the most important problems arising from the institutions that teachers are working in during the post-graduate education are: teachers have trouble getting permission to continue classes and students in the school complain about vacant courses. As problems arising from the immediate surroundings, the teachers participating in the survey show that after the school is over, the parents find the post-graduate education meaningless and compare them with their peers about having a job
