Bu araştırmanın amacı genel olarak üniversite öğrencilerinde yaşamın anlamı ve psikolojik esneklik arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi ve üniversite öğrencilerinin psikolojik esneklik düzeylerinin algıladıkları mutluluk durumuna ve yaşamlarında bir amaca sahip olma düzeylerine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının ortaya koyulmasıdır. İlişkisel tarama modeli ile yapılan araştırmanın denencelerini test etmek için 723 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşan örneklemden araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan ‘‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’’, Streger, Frazier, Oishi ve Kaler (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçe’ ye uyarlaması Boyraz, Lighhtsey ve Can (2013) tarafından gerçekleştirilen ‘‘Yaşamın Anlamı Envanteri’’ ve Bond vd. (2011) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçe’ ye uyarlaması Yavuz, Iskin, Ulusoy, Esen ve Burhan (2014) tarafından yapılan ‘‘Kabul ve Eylem Formu’’ kullanılarak elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi için SPSS 20 istatistik paket programı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan istatistiksel analiz sonrası verilerin normal dağılım göstermediği tespit edildiğinden non-parametrik testlerden Kruskal Wallis Ki Kare Testi kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca verilerin analizinde korelasyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda anlam arayışı, anlamın varlığı, yaşamın anlamı ve psikolojik esneklik arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Yaşamın anlamı düzeyi öğrencilerin kendilerini algıladıkları mutluluk durumuna göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Ayrıca psikolojik esneklik düzeyinin, kendilerini algıladıkları mutluluk durumuna ve yaşamda belirgin bir amaca sahip olma düzeylerine göre de anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuçlar ilgili literatür eşliğinde tartışılmış ve bu doğrultuda diğer araştırmacılara yardımcı olabilecek öneriler sunulmuştur.
The aim of this study is to study the meaning of life and the relationship between psychological flexibility in university students in general and to reveal whether the levels of psychological flexibility of university students differ according to the state of happiness they perceive and the levels of having a purpose in their lives. For testing the tests of the research done with the relational scan model, the sample consisting of 723 university students was prepared by researchers by the "Personal Information Form", developed by Streger, Frazier, Oishi and Kaler (2006) and adapted to the Turkish by Boyraz, Lighhtsey and Can (2013) by the "Life Meaning Inventory" and Bond etc. The data developed by (2011) and adapted to Turkish by Yavuz, Iskin, Ulusoy, Esen and Burhan (2014) were analyzed using the "Acceptance and Action Form". SPSS 20 is a statistical package program for data analysis. Since the statistical analysis was carried out that the data did not show normal distribution, the non-parametric tests used the Kruskal Wallis Ki Quadratic Test. Correlation analysis is also used in the analysis of data. The research has found that there is a meaningful relationship between the search for meaning, the existence of meaning, the meaning of life and psychological flexibility. The meaning of life has found that the level of happiness that students perceive is significantly different from the state of happiness they perceive. It is also found that the level of psychological flexibility significantly differs according to the state of happiness they perceive themselves and the level of having a clear purpose in life. The findings were discussed in the accompanying literature and suggestions were presented that could help other researchers in this direction.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the meaning in life and psychological flexibility of university students and also psychological flexibility levels of university students differ significantly by their perceived happiness and having a purpose in their lives.To test the hypothesis of the research implemented by the correlational comparative survey method, the samples acquired from 723 of university students were analyzed by using the Personal Information Form developed by the researches, the Meaning in Life developed by Streger, Frazier, Oishi ve Kaler (2006) and adapted into Turkish by Boyraz, Lighhtsey ve Can (2013), the Acceptance Action Questionnaire- II developed by Bond et al(2011) and adapted into Turkish by Yavuz, Iskin, Ulusoy, Esen ve Burhan (2014). SPSS Statistics 20.0 software was used for the data analysis. As the data did not show a normal distribution in the statistical analysis Kruskal Wallis Chi square test that is nonparametric tests were utilized for the research findings. Also correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. It has been found that there is a significicant relation between the search for meaning, the presence of meaning and the psychological flexibility.The level of the meaning in life showed meaningful differences according to the perceived happiness students Additionaly, it was found that the level of psyhological flexibility also showed meaningful differences according to the perceived happiness themselves and having a specific purpose in life.The consequences were discussed in the light of the relevant literatüre and the suggestions could be helpful for the other researchers were submitted.
