Sultan II. Abdülhamid, saltanatı boyunca (1876 - 1908) fotoğrafa önem veren ve fotoğrafçıları çeşitli görüntüler almaları için görevlendiren bir padişahtır. Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in bu konuda görevlendirdiği fotoğrafçılardan biri de Vasilaki Kargopulo’dur. Fotoğrafı birçok amacın yanı sıra tanıtım amaçlı kullanan Sultan II. Abdülhamid, yabancı ülkelere Osmanlı’nın kültür yapısını ve gelişmelerini sergileyen fotoğraf albümleri göndermiştir. Özenle hazırlanan ve gönderilen albümler arasında Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in kendi ailesi ile ilgili fotoğraflar da yer almıştır. Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in Aile Albümünde; Sultan Abdülhamid’in, Sultan Abdülaziz’in ve Sultan Abdülmecid’in ailesi ile ilgili bilgiler ve hanedana mensup kişilerin fotoğrafları yer almıştır. Çalışmada amaç, Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in aile albümünde bulunan kız çocuklarının kıyafetlerini analiz ederek Osmanlı dönemi çocuk giyim kültürünü incelemektir. Bu amaçla İstanbul Üniversitesi Nadir Eserler Kütüphanesi ile İslam Tarih, Sanat ve Kültür Araştırma Merkezi (IRCICA) arşivinde bulunan kız çocuğu sultanların yer aldığı fotoğraflar, bu çalışmada materyal olarak kullanılmış ve fotoğraflarda yer alan on bir kız çocuğunun kıyafeti genel olarak incelenmiştir. Fotoğrafların kullanılması için gerekli yayın izni alınmış ve fotoğraf telif hakkı ödenmiştir. Kız çocuğu sultan kıyafetleri; tür, aksesuar, model ve süsleme açısından analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda, kız çocuklarının kıyafetlerinde dönemin Avrupa modasının izleri görülmüştür. Kız çocukların model boyu uzun, etek ucu geniş ve süslü kıyafetler giydikleri görülmektedir. Kız çocukların aksesuar olarak başa şapka taktıkları; ayağa bot giydikleri dikkat çekmiştir.
The Sultan II. Abdülhamid was a king during his reign (1876 - 1908) who took attention to photography and sent photographers to take a variety of images. The Sultan II. One of the photographers that Abdülhamid commissioned on this issue is Vasilaki Kargopulo. The photograph is used for many purposes as well as for promotional purposes by Sultan II. Abdülhamid has sent photographic albums to foreign countries showing the cultural structure and development of Ottoman. Through the album, the Sultana II was prepared and sent. There were also photos of Abdullah’s own family. The Sultan II. Abdülhamid's Family Album contains information about the family of Sultan Abdülhamid, Sultan Abdüllaziz and Sultan Abdülmecid and photos of people belonging to the dynasty. The purpose of the study is Sultan II. By analyzing the clothes of the girls in Abdülhamid's family album, the Ottoman era is to study the children's clothes culture. For this purpose, the photographs of the girls sultan in the archive of the Istanbul University Library of Rare Works and the Islamic History, Art and Culture Research Center (IRCICA) were used as material in this study and the clothes of the eleven girls in the photographs were generally studied. The necessary publication permission for the use of the photographs has been obtained and the photography copyright has been paid. The girl sultan clothes were analyzed in terms of type, accessories, model and decoration. At the end of the study, there were traces of the European fashion of the time in the clothes of the girls. It is seen that girls wear long, long and decorated clothes with a model length. The girls worn the hat as accessories; they worn the boat on their feet.
