Abstract:

In the prevention and recognition of child negligence and abuse, educators play an important role. Research shows that these cases are the most common for the age group. The research was carried out in our country with teachers from the pre-school institutions. There was an individual meeting with the teachers who worked in the bars of the bars. The level of teachers’ recognition of the signs of child neglect and abuse was studied by the "Child Abuse and Abuse Symptoms Scale". As a result, the levels of teachers’ recognition of the signs of negligence and abuse have not varied in terms of socio-demographic variables (age, gender, level of education, professional experience). Similarly, the levels of recognition of the signs of neglect and abuse of educators have been found that they have not differed in relation to the circumstances of previous education, neglect and abuse in their professional lives and the circumstances of previously encountered. In the study, clear orders of teachers’ ignorance and signs of abuse (physical injuries, fractures, alien sexual behaviors, etc.) The signs they are more clearly recognized and more abstract (the child's silence, disinterest, fear and fobies, etc.) It has been seen that they are less aware and more rarely associated with signs of negligence and abuse.
