In this study, a model based on multi criteria decision making methods is established to analyze the financial performance of 11 Turkish banks with public, private and foreign capital. The aim of this study is to make a comparison of TOPSIS and PROMETHEE methods which are used in evaluation of bank performance. In this model, where 13 financial ratios are used as criteria, banks are ranked from the highest performance to the lowest. The rankings are compared with the most basic performance criteria, namely the return on assets and the return on equity. According to the comparative analysis, PROMETHEE method is a more effective evaluation tool in determining the performance of the banks than the TOPSIS method.
