The lack of clear definitions regarding the employees’ duties, authorities, and responsibilities and/or the absence of explicit disclosure of the expected behaviors in relation to the duties of the employees is called role ambiguity. According to the Role Theory; employees, who experience role ambiguity, may act against productivity and performance due to the stress they are exposed to. Although reactions to role ambiguity differ, as a result of the increased internet use in the workplaces, employees are more prone to engage in cyberslacking behaviors in response to role ambiguity. In this context, the aim of this study is to determine how role ambiguity affects cyberslacking behaviors, which can be defined as 'the coffee break of the modern age'. Data is gathered by survey method and the sample was consisted of private sector employees. Results of the analysis revealed that role ambiguity has a significant positive effect on cyberslacking activities. In this regard, in order to lessen the usage of the internet for personal purposes during working hours, it is recommended that employees should have a working environment with less role ambiguity.
