The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of visualising activities on preschool children’s emotional intelligence. This research uses a triangulation method. This can be defined mixed methods. According to Tashakkori ve Teddlie (1998), mixed method approach includes quantitative and qualitative and researchers draws on both approaches in their studies even if one approach is used less than the other. An homogeneous sampling, which is one of the non-random sampling methods, was used in the research. The research’s study group consists of 5-year-old children studying at the Sahil Preschool affiliated to the Tatvan district of Bitlis The children are divided into two groups: experimental and control. The experimental group is the researcher’s own classroom and the control group is another class in the same school. The participant teachers fill in observational form carefully when the first test is applied. The researchers prepare visualising activities for the experimental group and the control group continues their routine activities. In this research, semi-structured observational and interview forms are used. We get help from experts for these two forms. Besides, In the study during the application, documents, the qualitative data have been collected. In the data analysis, we refer to visualising activities through document analysis. Data analysis, Shapiro-Wilks test is used to determine whether there is normal distribution among items relating to emotional intelligence or not. When normal distribution is examined, Shapiro- Mann Whitney U-Test is also used to compared the points of the children in the experimental group with the control group. Data from the semi-structured observational from have be analysed through the descriptive and content data analysis methods. Wilcoxon is used to analyse and compare the points within each group. When content analysis is applied, the responses of the children are described and each question is given a code. As a result of the research, they talk more about informative topics and practices, and they like more learning by doing, visual and auditory activities that other activities.
