Census in Turkey has been carried out since 1927. From 1927 to 2017, Turkey's population has increased continuously, while some period showed variability in the rate of population growth. The transition from high fertility and death rates to low both of them is called demographic transformation theory. Turkey has lived the third stage of the demographic transition theory, that a decrease in death and birth rates, population growth has experienced balanced. However, Turkey is aging even more, with the 2023 "too old" countries will enter the classroom. In order to better analyze the population constitutes one of the main topics of human geography and in order to determine Turkey's demographic transformation, the characteristics of the population (age structure, gender status, education status, household size, distribution of workers by economic sector, rural-urban population rates) are studied in this study. Compared to the population projections of 2023, 2040, 2060 and 2080, which are formed by considering the Address Based Population Census Results, future demographic opportunities and what should be done in this context have been put forward.
