Özet:

Universities is one of the most important institutions that constitute the social and cultural infrastructure of the society. The personnel employed at the universities, the expenditures made for the institution, the agreements of the local sectors and the universities due to student expenses; have significant impacts on the development of local economies. The universities which cause the change of the air of the region they are in are also causing the revitalization of the economic activities of the region. The aim of the study is to determine the contribution of the students of Cumhuriyet University to Sivas province economy for 2017 year. For researching this, a survey study was applied to the students of Cumhuriyet University. As a result of the questionnaire, the amount of students spend according to various expenditure items was determined and their socio-economic characteristics were determined. Statistical comparisons have also identified differences in expenditure items. Finally, the contribution of the students of Cumhuriyet University to Sivas province economy is calculated as the amount.
