In recent years, the production of ceramic tiles which have aesthetic properties, in addition to their high quality and functionality, have increasingly gained importance. With the adaptation of the InkJet digital printing technology to the ceramics industry, the decorative and applicational properties have significantly improved, reflecting on the added value of these products. This technology which particularly facilitates the application of ceramic surface designs, has enabled the direct implementation of stone, marble, and wood visuals inspired by nature. This entirely digital technology, suitable for automation, is based on forming the desired design by spraying ink droplets formed in a controlled manner on the sample with the aid of a nozzle. The aim of the research is to monitor the changes and investigate the use of InkJet digital printing technologies in the ceramic coating industry. The scope and content of the research is limited to the use of the InkJet printing technology in the ceramic coating industry. In addition, distinct from the forms in nature, the study has investigated the manner in which experimental ceramic tile designs can be made based on the works of any artist. Within this context, by forming applicational areas such as ceramic coating, the works of artist Şirin Koçak have been analysed based on colour, surface, and conceptual features, and the findings have been explained. Even though InkJet technology is the primary design printing technique used by ceramic coating manufacturers today, there is not enough information regarding the preparation process of designs compatible with this technology. This paper examines the latest developments in the technology and covers the process of developing sample ceramic tile designs.
