Bergama has been accepted as the one of the most important cultural heritage of the World. Therefore Bergama should be sustained with its all natural and cultural values forever. Bergama’s urban identity is composed of both environmental (beautiful nature, healthy natural sources, and fertile lands) and cultural components (multilayered cultures). However this city has been under the risk of losing its historical-cultural-natural values because of uncontrolled population growth, multi-story buildings, slum buildings, lack of perseveration knowledge etc. In this article it is attempted to investigate the sustainability of Bergama with all its natural-cultural and historical values. In this context the city was examined according to its planning decisions and buildings from Antique Period to these days. By means of this analysis it is planned to develop some suggestions for the natural and cultural sustainability of the city.
