Abstract:

Cities are changing over time due to economic reasons, migration, misplaced ground and natural disasters and they need renovation, revitalization, development, conversion or conservation projects and applications for these reasons. The urban transformation that emerges at this point represents the whole of all the strategies and plans that are produced for the problematic areas in the cities, although the forms of implementation vary. As in the whole world, urban transformation projects are implemented in many cities in our country. However, when some urban transformation studies in our country are examined, it has been observed that deviations from the purposes of the applications made lead to the formation of new rent areas, which do not contribute to the improvement in the cities rather than to the solution oriented ones.   In this study, the urban transformation area in Isparta Province, Gülistan District was considered and the changes before and after urban transformation were compared. Urban transformation applications carried out in Gülistan District have been solved in economic and social context by providing social integration, contributing to contemporary urban fiction and developing suggestions for increasing the quality of life through transformation.
