Due to the need of unification of the information supply of the systemof public finance functioning in Ukraine and bringing itinto compliance with International accounting standards for the public sector, the modernization of accounting in the public sector is being performed. The article is devoted to analysis of directionsand objectives identified in the Strategy for modernizing accounting system in the public sector of Ukraine, and the state of its implementationat the present stage
