Bu çalışmanın amacı, kadın çalışanların kariyer geliştirme sürecinde karşılaştıkları sorunların incelenmesi ve bu sorunların çözümüne yönelik öneriler geliştirilmesidir. Çalışma kapsamında öncelikle kariyer geliştirme kavramı ve kariyer geliştirme sürecinde kadın çalışanların yaşadıkları sorunlar ile ilgili bir alanyazın taraması yapılmıştır. Uygulama kısmında ise, Trabzon ili kamu sektöründe kadın çalışanların kariyer geliştirme sürecinde yaşadıkları sorunların tespit edilmesine yönelik bir çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma karma yöntem (nicel ve nitel yöntem birlikte) kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Nicel analiz kısmındaki hipotezlerin test edilmesinde, faktör analizi ve Kruskall Wallis testinden yararlanılmıştır. Nitel analiz kısmında ise, betimsel analiz ve içerik analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda kadın çalışanların çoklu sorumlulukların üstesinden gelme, toplumsal cinsiyet kalıpyargıları, örgüt kültürü, insan kaynakları uygulamalarında cinsiyet ayrımcılığı, kendilerine koydukları engeller, mentor eksikliği ve kadın yönetici algıları ile ilgili sorunlar yaşadıkları tespit edilmiş ve bu sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri geliştirilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to explore the problems that women employees face in the career development process and to develop suggestions for solving these problems. In the framework of the study, first and foremost the concept of career development and a scan of the fields related to the problems that women workers experience in the process of career development. In the application section, a study was conducted to identify the problems that women workers in the public sector in Trabzon experience in the career development process. The work is carried out using the karma method (nicel and quality method together). In the testing of the hypotheses in the Nicel analysis section, the factor analysis and the Kruskall Wallis test were used. In the quality analysis section, the visual analysis and content analysis were performed. The study found that women employees experienced problems related to overcoming multiple responsibilities, social gender patterns, organizational culture, gender discrimination in human resources practices, obstacles they put on, lack of mentor and women’s managerial perceptions, and proposals for solutions to these problems were developed.
The aim of this study is to determine the problems faced by women employees in career development process and offer solutions to these problems. A literature review is made about the concept of career development and problems faced by women in career development process. A case study is made about problems in career development process of women employees in public sector in Trabzon. A mixed method (quantitative and qualitative methods) is used in the case study. In the quantitative analysis part, Factor Analysis and Kruskall Wallis tests are used in order to test the hypotheses. In the qualitative analysis part, descriptive and content analysis are made. As a result; it is revealed that the women employees faced problems about multiple responsibilities, gender stereotypes, organizational culture, occupational discrimination in human resource practices, barriers that put by themselves, lack of mentors and perceptions of women managers in career developlment process. At the end of the study, solutions are offered for these problems.
