The main purpose of the research is to examine the effect and the relationship between manager’s innovation perceptions, the style of managing innovation process and the companies’ innovation performance. The population of the research is the upper level (owner) managers of SMEs operating in Duzce. Quantitative research was used in the study. Dates were obtained by using face to face questionnaire technique. 126 questionnaires were used for analyzing the data. According to the research findings, the managers’ innovation perception that has the greatest impact positively on managing transformational-style is “quality growth”, the variable with the highest positive impact on managing charismatic style and managing servant style is “out of the crisis” and the variable that has the highest positive impact on managing strategic manner is “competitive advantage”. Additional costs perception from negative perceptions has a negative impact on all management styles. On the other hand, the most important innovation process managing styles that have an impact on companies’ innovation performance are charismatic style and strategic style
