The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship beetween charismatic leadership charecteristics of school directors and organizational commitment of teachers. Conger and Kanungo emphasises that charimatic leaders need to have the main qualifications such as vision articulating, showing enviromental sensitivity, exhibiting unusual behaviors, taking personal risk, showing care for members needs and not maintaining the status quo. as a means of data collections; Charismatic Leadership Scale Which was improved by Conger and Kanungo and in order to measure organizational commitment, Organizational Commitment Scale which was developed by Allen and Meyer is used at the research. The research sample compose of 217 teachers which are working primary and high schools in Diyarbakır province and Eğil county and choosing randomize cluster sampling method. According to the findings obtained as a result of the study; perception of teachers about charismatic leadership charecteristics of their directors is high (X=3.65, SS=.786) and perception of teachers about organizational commitment is mid (X= 3.19, SS=.875), teachers’ perceptions of organizational commitment have no significant difference with independent variables. Perception of charismatic leadership in vision articulating, showing enviromental sensitivity, exhibiting unusual behaviors, taking personal risk, have no significant difference with independent variables, but the charecteristics of showing care for members needs and not maintaining the status quo is called “communications and maintaining dimenson of charismatic leadership” by us and there is a significant difference in type of schools in favor of high school teachers in terms of communication and maintaining. The correlation analysis which is done to determine the relationship of two variables, it is observed there is a lower correlation (r=.19) between charismatic leadership and organizational commitment. It is thought that this result is originate from affects by different factors on organizational commitment, and also rapidly changing structure of organizational commitment
