Visuals are essential for geometry. Teaching geometry based on visuals will influence learners positively. They often have difficulty in understanding geometry since it requires spatial thinking. In this sense, the aim of the study is to research the effect of teaching 8th grade students the area and volume of geometric objects with Cabri 3D software. The study was conducted with 38 8th grade students from a middle school in Maden, Elazığ. The effectiveness of the Cabri 3D software was determined according to pre-test, post-test, quasi-experimental model with control group. As the result of the study it was concluded that teaching “The Area and Volume of Geometric Objects” with Cabri 3D was effective for the experimental group, compared to the conventional teaching methods carried out for the control group.
