The aim of this study is to analysed the positive and negative sides of the TV series, which are being watched, on children at the secondary school level through pictures, one of the means of children expressing themselves. The study was conducted in a medium province located in the east of Turkey. The research group of the study consisted of totally 109 students ( 48 girls, 61 boys), who were at the ages of 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 in the 5th (35), 6th (35) and 7th (39) grades of a secondary school in 2015/2016 education and training year. In the research, the document analysis method was employed among the qualitative research methods. The data of the research were analysed using the descriptive analysis technique. The analyses of the data were tested at the meaningful level of 0,5 in the SPSS 22 software program. To measure positive and negative achievement scores according to gender variable, the Unrelated (Independent) Sample T-Test was applied, to measure positive and negative achievement scores according to father education level, mother education level and the classes of students, the Single Factor Analysis of Variance for Unrelated Sample (One-Way ANOVA ) test was used. According to the findings of the research, the average scores of positive achievement of female students were significantly higher than male students; and negative achievement scores were significantly lower than male students. According to the education level of the parents and the class levels of the students, it was found that the students were not significantly different in their positive and negative achievement scores. Depending on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that male students are more likely to watch the TV series containing negative samples compared with girls. This result is an expected result when the gender characteristics of male and female students are taken into consideration. The average positive achievement scores of the students can be rated between medium and good. Negative achievement average scores are medium for male students and lower for female ones.
