These early studies conducted under the conditions of war and colonialism, not only influenced the scientific approach, but also the political positioning of the sociologist. This article shows that a dissolving social structure and the attitudes developed in the face of this dissolution have played a major role, especially in the elaboration of the concept of habitus. One of the imperatives of reflexivity, a key concept for the sociology of Bourdieu, is to evaluate the researcher's position, along with the whole research universe.
