The purpose of this study is to investigate general self efficacy beliefs of academicians according to the variables of department, gender and affiliations. In this study correlational survey model was used. The research group consisted of 80 academicians working at the Faculty of Education of Abant Izzet Baysal University. In this study, the data was collected through the use of General Self Efficacy scale developed by Shwarzer and Jerusalem (1995), which was adapted into Turkish culture by Aypay (2010). The quantitive data were collected in the fall semester of 2012-2013 academic year. Independent Samples T Test and Kruskal Wallis H - Test were used for the analysis of the data. The results revealed no significant differences in academicians’ general self efficacy beliefs with respect to their departments, gender and affiliations
