Textbooks are one of the very important elements of the learning environment. Biology textbooks have been changed in accordance with the recently introduced high school biology curriculum. In this study, measurement and evaluation techniques and activities in the high school biology textbooks are examined in the light of the 2007 biology curriculum in order to understand the alignment between them. Qualitative data was collected using comparative document analyses techniques. Assessment and evaluation methods that were used in each unit in 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade biology textbooks were analyzed in detail and results were tabulated. Traditional techniques of measurement and evaluation have found to be more common than alternative techniques that were advised in the new curriculum. Not all recommended assessment methods were included in the textbooks. It was concluded that high school biology textbooks do not truly reflect the vision of measurement and evaluation practices that is explained and recommended in the new high school biology education program
