Health indicators are considered as one of the main factors determining the development levels of countries. Health services are important for economic growth and development, in order to increase the labor productivity and for the public peace and welfare. While health services are considered to be an important part of the country's economy and a major service sector, the spread of collective positive externality of health services, toward both the individual receiving the service and the environment of the individual, is one of the most important economic features of health services. In this study, the types of health expenditures done in Turkey between the years 2000-2016 are discussed in the framework of international classifications made by the TSI. Accordingly, it was found that the current expenditures increased during the data period but the shares in GNP did not show any significant change. It was also found that th share of public health expenditure increased in total health expenditure, and a large part of these public health expenditures include hospital and drug spending, approximately 80 percent of health-care investments are covered by the government, and the health services and financing of healthcare services are nationalized in Turkey.
