The primary objective of this paper is to test the validity of Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis with respect to Turkish economy for the period of 1975 and 2010. EKC hypothesis assumes an inverted U-shaped relationship between environmental degradation and income. The method employed in this study for investigating the EKC hypothesis in the long-run is ARDL Bound Test. Meanwhile, the causal relationship between income and CO2 is examined with the Toda-Yamamoto (1995) Granger Causality Test. The econometric results obtained on the Turkish economy in the long-run does not validate the EKC hypothesis. An inverted N-shaped relationship is found between the aforementioned variables, wheras the coeffcicients of the variables are found to be statistically insignificant. Meanwhile, the Toda-Yamamoto (1995) Causality Test indicates that there is an unidirectional causality from income (PPP) to CO2 emissions
