The aim of the study is to determine the profile and problems of the women entrepreneurs operating in the food sector in Balıkesir. The data were obtained from 60 female entrepreneurs who received KOSGEB credit support in Balıkesir province between 2012-2017 periods. Interviews and questionnaires were applied to obtain data. Frequency and descriptive statistical analyzes were used for data analysis. The data obtained through the interviews were classified according to the subjects. The research results show that the most important entrepreneurship features of female entrepreneurs are confident, successful and economic independence. In the process of establishing business, female entrepreneurs receive the most support from their husbands. Providing capital, finding workplace and bureaucratic difficulties are the most important problems that women entrepreneurs face in opening workplace. On the other hand, the most important problems faced post-entrepreneurial are listed as finding qualified staff, work-house balance and finding customers. The study also includes suggestions for new entrepreneurs based on the experienced women entrepreneurs.
