The purpose of this study is to elicit the relationship between achievement goal orientations and the opinions of pre-service teachers about constructivism. The study was conducted on 149 pre-service teachers in Zonguldak Karaelmas University Ereğli Education Faculty. The data were gathered with the help of an achievement goal orientation scale and a constructivist approach opinion scale in 2009-2010 fall term. At the end of the study it was found out that there was not a relationship between the students’ major and their opinions of the constructivist approach, while there was a significant relationship between their task goal orientations and opinions of the constructivist approach.
