Knowledge management process means knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing and use of information. Unused information does not create a value. Therefore knowledge accomplishes its function by getting used. This study aims at explaining how to realize efforts of sharing knowledge, which is one of the stages of knowledge management process, more effectively and also the importance of the employees’ opinion concerning knowledge sharing. Schein, defines organizational culture as a certain set of basic assumptions created and developed in order to address specific compliance and internal integration problems of a group. The aim of this study is to determine whether knowledge sharing effects organizational culture or not, and if it does to determine to what extend it effects organizational culture. The research was carried out by analyzing the data collected from the questionnaires given to 412 nurses working in the medical command hospitals of the Turkish Armed Forces. As a result, knowledge sharing dimensions, namely perspective concerning knowledge, knowledge sharing level, the openness of cognitive channels of knowledge sharing within the organization, revealed a positive relationship with organizational culture. This result indicates the importance of organizational culture for successful knowledge sharing.
