This study was designed to investigate the effects of accommodation business employees' workplace ostracism, job tension, need for affiliation on work performance and the mediating role of leader-member exchange among these variables. The sample of the research is the personnel working in the five-star accommodation businesses located in Istanbul and Canakkale. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the workplace ostracism, job tension and need for affiliation affect the work performance negatively. As a result of the structural equation analysis, it has been observed that leader-member exchange has a partial mediating role on the negative effect of workplace ostracism and job tension on work performance experienced by accommodation employees. In the framework of these results, this study recommended that accommodation businesses should take into account the leader member exchange approach and encourage interactions between employees and managers.
