Özet:

The most important condition to be a qualified teacher is choosing and training qualified candidates. Supply and demand considerably affect the input to a profession. In Turkey, in order to meet this supply and demand, various teacher training models have been and are still being tried. The perspective to the problem of teacher training still continues by having been affected by different variables in time. This research aims to determine the preference reasons of teachers to be teachers who will train the conscious, responsible and successful generations of the future. The research encompasses 124 voluntary students having formation training at Dumlupınar University (DPÜ) Education Faculty during 2014-2015 academic period. According to the research results, 65.3% of the participants believe that they will do efficient and effective teaching while 88.7 % of the participant pre-service teachers believe that they will do their profession fondly and their preference reason for this profession is that they love this profession. 56.5 % of the participants state that their preference reason for this profession isn’t due to obligation and its convenience for doing extra jobs isn’t a factor for preference.
