Even though instruction programmes are an important guiding for teachers, teachers encounter many challenges in the implementation process. In this study, it was aimed to determine what should be done to give an effective environmental education by revealing views of science and technology course teachers on "Human and Environment Unit" comprised of the curriculum of science and technology course in 2005, which was mostly included the topics environmental education. Within qualitative study research design. The sample consisted of 5 science and technology course teachers in Gumushane. The data were gathered via semistructured interviews. Then, the qualitative data were analyzed by using NVivo 8,0 package programme and Cohen’s Kappa coefficient was calculated 0,63. Findings showed that in the process of teaching of "Human and Environment Unit" including issues of environmental education, teachers faced difficulties both inside of the unit and outside of the unit such as “the unit to be passed quickly by teachers” and “the number of acquisition to be less”. It is emphasize that the encountered challenges in the unit mentioned can be reduced by the presence of curriculum of environmental education and as a result of the elimination of the determined difficulties, students get better environmental awareness
