Terrorist activities bring along a number of political, economic and social problems in the national and the international area. Terror has become an important mechanism used against governments in the new world order since the end of the Cold War period. Turkey is among the primary countries being negatively affected by terrorist activities as it has been experiencing this problem for a long time. Terrorist incidents in our region and our country affect all the sectors. There is a need for bracketing the tourism sector. Because tourism sector is among the primary sectors that shows the quickest reaction to terrorist incidents. This study examines whether or not the terrorist incidents that occurred in our country between 2011-2016 have negatively affected the national tourism and analyzes the number of tourists, tourism income and the share of tourism within the national economy via literature review.
