The aim of this study is to evaluate the preschool teacher candidates’ attitudes towards profession and professional self respect by considering the different variables The sample of the research consists of 120 students having education in third and forth years of the first and second program in the Department of Preschool Teacher Training of Education Faculty of Çukurova University In order to evaluate the students’ attitudes towards profession “The Scale of Professional Attitude” developed by Özgür 1994 and in order to evaluate the students’ professional self respect “The Scale of Arıcak Professional Self Respect” developed by Arıcak 2001 were used in the study Some demographic variables about students were gained by using Personal Information Form In the analyses of the data Variance Analysis test were used The results have been evaluated by the Social Sciences Statistical Program SPSS According to the results of the research the reason of preference of Preschool Teacher Training Department causes statistically significant difference on the score that have obtained from The Scale of Professional Attitude and The Scale of Professional Self Respect while grade level of the participants do not cause any significant difference In addition having a teacher in the family results a statistically significant difference on their professional self respect Key Words: Preschool Teacher Candidate Attitude towards Professional Professional Self Respect
