The aim for this research is to analyses the change on the level of teacher attitudes and beliefs on classroom control of teacher candidates who take classroom management course The study was carried out at the Technical Faculty of Education in the Department of Electronic and Computer Education at Gazi University in the second term of 2006 2007 academic years Totally 91 teacher candidates constitute sample of the research An experimental research was conducted for this aim In this experimental study one group pre test and last test model has been applied Before the study attitudes and beliefs on classroom control inventory with a 85 reliability coefficiency had been applied as pre tests The scale includes total 26 points on the dimensions of instruction management people management and behavior management After a 12 week classroom management course the same scale had been applied as posttest Arithmetic mean dependent t test and independent t test were applied for analyzing data At the end of this research it was determined that teacher candidates’ level of teacher attitudes and beliefs on classroom control after and before they took courses not changed On the other hand it was determined that attitudes and beliefs on classroom control levels of teacher candidates doesn’t depend on before and after their taking classroom management course sex general academic achievement levels and high school type they graduated Keywords: Teacher’s vocational courses classroom management attitudes and beliefs on classroom control inventory preservice teacher
