The main purpose of this research is to determine the level of goal realization of Elementary School Teaching 4th grade students in the scope of “Living Things and Life Unit” of 1st grade science and technology lesson In addition the interchangeability of gender and graduated school in their level of goal realization are also studied The research is held in 2006 2007 Spring semester at Çukurova University Faculty of Education Elementary School Teaching Department on 47 male and 53 female 4th grade students – 100 students in total An achievement test of Science lesson is applied for collecting data When the findings are analyzed through the answers of 24 questions from the “Living Things and Life Unit” of Science lesson that asked to the students of Çukurova University Faculty of Education Elementary School Teaching Department; the correctly answered questions are as following: 29 1 12 questions 38 13 15 questions 33 16 14 questions According to these findings it can be said that 4thgarde students who attended to elementary school teaching have got enough knowledge about “living things and life” unit In addition there is no significant difference in goal realization according to their gender and graduated school Key words: Science Teaching Teacher Education Subject Matter Knowledge
