The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between irrational beliefs and aggression of students in early adolescence and to determine if how irrational beliefs predict aggression level In this pespective it was explored that whether there are differences on students’ aggressiveness scores according to their gender parents’ education level families’ income level and the number of siblings Subjects of this study were 955 students in 7th and 8th grades from junior high school in Elazığ To collect data The Irrational Beliefs Scale for Adolescents Aggression Inventory and Personal Information Form were administered Data were analyzed by using Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation coefficients t test varyans analysis and multiple regression analysis In this study significant positive correlations were found between aggression and IBSA total scores and the subscales demand for success demand for comfort and demand for respect for total sample It was found a significant difference between the aggression scores of boys and girls meaning that boys’ scores were higher than those of girls There was not any difference on students’ aggressiveness scores according to the parent’s education level families’ income level and the number of sibling The result of regression analysis showed that the scores of demand for comfort and success subscale were much more significant predictor for students’ aggression scores than demand for respect subscale points Keywords: Irrational beliefs aggression early adolescence
