The population of this study aiming at detecting reflective thinking tendency of primary school teachers consists of teachers who work at state and private primary schools located in the city of Adana 216 female and 127 male teachers from 20 primary schools 10 of which are state schools and two of which are private ones In order to analyze the data collected by means of Reflective Teaching Tendency Questionnaire YANDE by Semerci 2007 arithmetic mean standard deviation t test ANOVA and LSD tests were used The results of the study show that 1 the primary school teachers have a high tendency level of reflective teaching; 2 female teachers have higher level of tendency compared to male teachers; 3 teachers graduated from the Faculty of Education or Educational Colleges are more open minded than those graduated from other faculties; 4 teachers of small groups 20 or fewer students and big groups 50 students and more have a negative attitude towards their profession; 5 professional status the grade level of the class socio economic level of school environment do not have a significant effect on teachers’ reflective thinking tendency Keywords: Thinking skills reflective thinking primary school teacher primary school
