The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cooperative learning and models on understanding of acids and bases topic in micro level. It was used quasi-experimental design with pre-posttest. The sample was comprised of 63 prospective teachers from science teacher education program at 1st grade. The first experiment group is Cooperative Learning Group-CLG) (N=18) in which student team achievement division technique (STAD) was used; the second experiment group is Cooperative Model Group- CMG) (N=21) in which STAD and models were used. In the Control Group- CG) (N=24) traditional laboratory method was used. For collecting data, it was used Acid-Base Particulate Test (ABPT) which is a multiple choices drawing test consisting of 13 questions. It was used descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA for analyzing. According to ANOVA results, there was a significant difference among groups in the post-test (p<0.05). Also, it was determined that prospective teachers have some misconceptions related to the acids and bases topic.
