The aim of this study is to find out the effect of research based implementation in The Nature and History of Science course on the third grade prospective science teachers’ views on the role of science in world peace. It is a one group experimental study conducted in Nature of Science and History of Science research-based education classes. The pre test-post test single grouped experimental study was done with 77 university students during one semester. The data was collected through a two open ended questionnaire and an interview with four open-ended questions. The data was analyzed with content analysis and percentages for pre and post tests were calculated. The results of the study revealed that the students’ views about role of science in world peace changed and became more positive after taking research based classes.
