Abstract In order to understand the relation between capitalism, environment and multinational companies it is needed to go back to the early 19th century. Environment is always located in problematic field within human- centered classic economic and scientific conjuncture which puts human as the center of life. Environmental problems have been mainly ignored in traditional capitalist fiction which has the idea that human is the ruler of nature rather than being a part of nature. This study aims to display this painful relationship between capitalism and the environment. It is also aimed to clarify the environmental policies of liberalism which is located as an ideology of capitalism.
