The Internet, which is a part of the everyday life, brings about a number of problems besides easiness in life. One of the main problems encountered is internet addiction. The purpose of the study was to determine internet addiction levels of pre-service teachers who were studying at Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty at Dicle University and to examine their internet addiction with the respect to certain variables. The participants of this study were 401 sophomore pre‐service teachers from Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty. In the study, the survey model was used. “Internet Addiction Scale” and personal information form were used as data collection instruments. According to the findings, it was revealed that the majority of the pre-service teachers were internet users who did not show symptoms of internet addiction; however, it was found that male pre-service teachers had more internet addiction symptoms than females. In addition, it was also revealed that the pre-service teachers who spent more time on the internet per day were more internet addicted than those who spent less time. According to another finding, the pre-service teachers who used the internet primarily for social media showed more internet addiction symptoms than those who used it to for homework-research purposes.
