The aim of this study is to determine the effect of argumentation on 8th grade students’ academic achievement in “Force and Motion subject” unit. For this purpose, semi-experimental pattern with pre-test and posttest control group was used in the research. The sample was conducted with 35 students in total, 16 of whom were in the experiment group and 19 of whom were in the control group, who were studying at a primary school. The data of the research was collected via Achievement test, semi-structured interviews. The study was completed in totally 7 weeks (in a style as 4 discipline hours in a week).Obtained data was analyzed through the analysis program SPSS15. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test from which use nonparametric analysis was used for group points obtained from academic achievement test. At the end of the implementation, it was obviously realized that there wasn’t a difference between academic successes. It was realized that argumentation with group was more effective than single argumentation.
