Abstract enThe purpose of this study is to find out the attitudes of elementary school 4th and 5th grades teachers towards social studies. A questionnaire and an attitude scale both developed by the researchers were applied to 214 elementary school teachers. 118 of 214 teachers were females. Frequency and percentage, t-test and one way ANOVA techniques were used to analyze the data. The results have shown that the elementary school teachers âsometimesâ had positive attitudes towards the social studies. The gender, school of graduation, seniority at work and the number of students at classes had no significant effect on the level and direction of attitude.
